Ceremony

We believe that the wedding music starts long before the reception. The music at the ceremony itself should express the love you have for each other as you enter a new life together, and not be the selections of the choir director who hardly knows you. We understand that this is the most musically unfamiliar area for most couples, so we offer you plenty of options and lots of guidance. Please visit our "Getting married?" section to get helpful hints and music suggestions, and then come back here to read the artist profiles and see who "sings" out to you.

Hilary Feldman

Hilary Ann Feldman is a classically trained singer who adds just the right touch of ambiance and beauty to wedding ceremonies. As a teacher and performer of music, Hilary not only knows music, but it's her passion. As a performer, she has been seen on stages throughout the Chicagoland area, including Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre, Grant Park Symphony Chorus, both Drury Lane Theaters, the Ravinia Festival, and Davenport's Cabaret Lounge. As a teacher, Hilary shares her talent with voice students ages 8 to eighty at Eileen Boevers' Performing Arts Workshop, Northbrook Children's Theatre, and the Park Districts of Highland Park and Buffalo Grove. She currently serves on the voice faculty of the Music Arts School in Highland Park. Smart and talented - what more could you ask for? Well, you could ask her to sing at your wedding! Contact us for her beautiful vocal demo. She hits those high notes like you wouldn't believe! Hilary received her degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and her degree in Music Production and Audio Engineering from Boston's Berklee College of Music.

Carolyn Wehner, Pianist/Vocalist

You've asked your cousin Sarah to sing at your church ceremony, but now she's freaking out because she's rehearsed the wrong version of Ave Maria. Don't worry, we can fix this. First of all, we'll start by getting you a copy of Carolyn's CD "Music for Your Wedding Ceremony" and its accompanying planning booklet. Her CD includes excerpts of over 45 songs representing a wide variety of musical styles, and features a special section devoted to music for the Catholic wedding ceremony. Carolyn has saved many a wedding ceremony, and she's keenly aware of the need to choose music that is suitable to the occasion. She'll work within the guidelines of your church or venue to ensure that the selections you choose are appropriate and beautifully performed. Carolyn can provide all of your ceremony music, and can add instruments to enhance the solo piano with strings or flute. Give us a call. We'll start with the wedding music CD, and you can tell Cousin Sarah to relax.

Steve Carson, Solo Piano or Organ

SSteve is a Southern gentleman who is as at home playing a looming pipe organ at a Cathedral as he is playing a rickety upright at a Baptist revival. And he really has played both...and all types of houses of worship in between. His knowledge of music expands far beyond secular, though, as he has performed his intricate piano styles on board the Odyssey Dinner Cruiseship for several years. For your ceremony he offers solo piano, piano/vocal, or the option of adding one of the amazing vocalists he works with. And most impressive: there is virtually no song that he can't do - and he'll learn any special request you have if you give him adequate notice.

Darya Glass, Vocalist

Darya has extensive experience singing for wedding ceremonies and funerary services throughout the Chicago-land area. Darya's crystal-clear vocals won her a spot as an entertainer at the Chicago Marriott's Great America and was featured in several of their T.V. commercials, voice-overs and promotions within the park. In the corporate setting, Darya writes, manages, coordinates and performs the marketing theme song for the Medical Products and Services Group of Cardinal Health. She also had the honor of being asked to sing the Communion Hymn for the Ordination of Deacons in May of 2003 at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago.

Specialty Acts

Everybody wants to be the one with the coolest party idea, and have their guests talking about the awesome experience for years to come. "That Mike, he's so smart! I would never have thought to hire Britney Spears' former choreographer to come in and teach Johnny's friends 'how to star in a music video' for his Bar Mitzvah!" Okay. Before you get any ideas, we don't offer that here. But we do have some cool stuff. We're still in negotiations with the choreographer.

Daryl Nitz

Musical Impressionist and Performer Extraordinaire- Combining celebrity impressions with his outrageous comedy style, the incomparable Daryl Nitz creates what Cabaret Hotline hails "a blockbuster evening of entertainment." Amazing and amusing audiences with over thirty celebrity voices, Daryl's over-the-top musical antics and impressions have been featured on WGN-TV, NBC-5 and CLTV-Metromix. One never knows who will take the stage once Daryl opens his mouth: Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Neil Diamond, Harry Connick Jr., Carol Channing, Eartha Kitt, Katherine Hepburn, Edith Bunker and even Geraldine! With his amazing three-octave range, Daryl can switch effortlessly from Frank Sinatra to Sarah Vaughn and from Bob Dylan to Eartha Kitt. And if that's not enough, his dead-on Billie Holiday leaves audiences convinced he is channeling her! Daryl is a master entertainer who will absolutely make sure that your event is tailor made to your theme. Need a show filled with songs about food? No problem! How about a travel theme? Great - and, we guarantee Daryl's antics will have you doubled over with laughter!

"The best party in town" is what Cabaret Scenes calls every Saturday night at Davenport's when Daryl and his musical director George Howe hold court in the Piano Bar. Daryl Nitz is truly a must-see performer who creates an unforgettable entertainment experience, prompting the Daily Herald Newspaper to exclaim that "watching Daryl Nitz perform is like watching a dozen different shows at once." Yeah. It's kind of crazy. We love it. You will too.

Jon Novi Experience

Jon is a virtuoso saxophone player. Jon is an awesome piano player. Jon is a great singer. And Jon even speaks five languages. He's got lots of talent, but Jon's preferred method of spending time is leading his own five-piece band where not many other bands go. He specializes in Jewish, 50's and 60's rock, and Brazilian/Latin music. What a combination! Well, when you have this much talent, who can focus on one genre? One thing you can count on, Jon is amazing no matter what music he's playing. For Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and anniversaries, this is your band. He also features a female vocalist to engage your guests with classic selections for dancing.

Ray Lozano, Guitarist/Singer

Ray loves to perform the songs he remembers growing up with, his early influences being Tito Puente and the American pop singers of the fifties such as Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mathis. He has a fantastic sound that he performs totally self-contained. What does that mean? It means you get awesome music and vocals from Ray and Ray alone, with a little help from his guitar, sound system and tracks. Clients like American Airlines, Panasonic, and the Chicago White Sox have been wow-ed by Ray's music and talent. And he's quite a personable guy, to boot. Book him for your mom's birthday party, she'll love you forever. Heck, book him for our birthday, and we'll love you forever, too.

3 Girls 3

This vocal trio uses tight harmonies, awesome arrangements, and clever staging to bring back the girl groups of the 30's, 40's, 50's, and beyond. From the songs of the Andrews sisters to the Supremes, these girls put heart, soul, and serious musicality into their performances. No wonder they were voted one of the "best of the best" cabaret shows in Chicago for 2000 by Cabaret Scenes Magazine. 3Girls3 has performed for cheering audiences from Chicago to Boston to California to New York, and they're available to bring an authentic USO feel to your grandpa's birthday party or your company's sock-hop. Several shows are available, including venues from 1940's wartime, girl groups (like the Supremes), Broadway selections, and holiday themes. Accompaniment by solo piano is all they need - these three have a lot of presence and big voices!

Testimonials

"I have said it before and I will gladly say it again 3 Girls 3 is one of the most talented trios that I have been fortunate to discover here in the Windy City! They are consistently good performers, and I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone see them perform soon. They are fresh, exciting, and their love of their art is contagious."

Jack Miuccio

Jack is not just a powerful singer and performer, but a wonderful tribute to the past who captures the essence of the Rat Pack and the Italian crooners of a bygone era. Dashing and debonair, you expect things like "Yes Ma'am," to come out of this young gentleman's mouth. But what does come out is glorious, rich music whether he's singing in English and channeling Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, or singing in Italian a'la Andrea Bocelli. He has performed as the opening act for Frankie Avalon and Fabian, performed alongside Keely Smith and Bobby Rydell, and is now available closer to home. You can find jack singing at Tuscany restaurant in Oakbrook and Enzo's in West Chicago. If you want to charm your guests right out of their seats, then just book Jack!

Quinn's Uncles

Quinn's Uncles is an acoustic rock act hailing from Chicago. Made up of the brother team of Tim Meade and Jim Meade, QU sounds like the Foo Fighters and the Allman Brothers had a baby, and then forced that baby to listen to a lot of Bon Jovi growing up. Tim Meade is a former member of the national touring group Blind Man's Bluff. He has also toured the nation twice with the hit musical, "Schoolhouse Rock Live!" A native of the Detroit area, Tim has sung and played guitar in countless rock bands. However, the unique blend of two brother's voices and guitars cannot be denied Quinn's Uncles is his best work yet. Jim Meade is a Detroit area native as well (go figure). Jim, too, has led countless rock bands through the trenches as lead singer and guitarist. No stranger to the theatre himself, he was recently recruited by Dominican University to play Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar," the ultimate challenge in rock opera. Jim brings his songwriting talents and English-major lyrics to make Quinn's Uncles an extremely tuneful and thoughtful band. They have their own originals CD entitled "Overdogs" - (we'd be glad to send you one for your listening pleasure), but they also cover artists such as the Beatles and more classic rock, even 80's hairbands! Or is that Headbands??

Jan James Blues Band

The Detroit Metro Times voted Ms. James "Best Female Vocalist" just in time to send her off to her new hometown, Chicago. When she arrived, she quickly became a staple at great venues such as Buddy Guy's, House of Blues, and Taste of Chicago. It wasn't long before the Royal George Theater snapped her up for the lead role in an extended run of a Janis Joplin musical biopic, an artist she is most often compared to. She enjoyed standing ovations onstage as Janice, and also when she appeared in concert with blues greats such as Koko Taylor, Muddy Waters, and James Brown. Her passion for blues has taken the band overseas to promote three original CDs, but we are happy to have her back for a while to enjoy her unmistakable down-home Chicago sound.

Claudia Hommel

Chanteuse Claudia Hommel was actually born in Paris, which explains why she brings such a "joie de vivre" and French flavor to her performances. Audiences fall in love with her as she celebrates Paris, singing with piano accompaniment, jazz quartet, or strolling with an accordionist. Her clear and beautiful voice adds to her considerable appeal. As you enjoy her show, you will be musically transported to the can-can halls, to a time when Edith Piaf and Josephine Baker sang while Toulouse Lautrec painted the dancers. Vive la France, Oui, Oui!!

Robin Galante, Harpist

The harp is truly a magical instrument, beautiful in stature and sound; but even more important than this golden instrument is the harpist behind the strings. A graduate of Northwestern University, Robin has twenty-five years of experience in both orchestras and as a soloist. She was a member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra, and has played for Governor Jim Edgar and all of Chicago's most prestigious establishments including The Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, The Drake, and The Signature Room at the 95th. In additional to classical pieces, Robin's repertoire includes showtunes, standards, and pop, and she is always willing to help you customize your event to your satisfaction.

Rami Hagari Violin

Whether you‚ve always dreamed or a strolling solo violinist, stunning string quartet, or something in between for your event, Rami delivers with the usual finesse, but he adds a touch of pizzazz! In addition to the classical repertoire, Rami is one of the few violinists we know who will actually take requests! Canon in D? Absolutely. Fiddler on the Roof? Naturally. In fact, even though Rami has a wealth of classical training, we like to refer to him as "the antidote to stuffy strings", because he actually has fun playing his wonderful instrument! Please call for pricing of several different string combinations available.
